Bob is a nationally recognized leader in insurance coverage law and only represents policyholders, not insurance companies. He developed his litigation skills in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, and then turned to insurance litigation. For over 30 years, he has litigated insurance coverage and insurance bad faith cases, first for insurance companies and for the last 25 years against insurance companies. He handled both of the seminal bad faith cases in Ohio: Zoppo v. Homestead Ins. Co., 71 Ohio St.3d 552, 644 N.E.2d 397, 1994-Ohio-461; and Motorists Mut. Ins. Co. v. Said, 63 Ohio St.3d 690, 590 N.E.2d 1228, 1992-Ohio-94.
Bob is recognized and respected among colleagues in his field. Most notably, Bob served as Chairman of the Insurance Coverage Specialization Committee and as Chairman of the Insurance Law Committee for the Ohio State Bar Association, and as Chairman of the Insurance Law Section for the Ohio Association for Justice. Bob has traveled across the country speaking on insurance law and has published articles in multiple legal journals. He has been certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Insurance Coverage Law, one of only 20 lawyers in Ohio with this designation.
Bob prides himself on recognizing the significant issues in a case and effectively seeking short-term solutions for his client's problems while still moving forward with the case as a whole. Bob is an attorney who gets things done quickly and efficiently. He returns telephone calls, keeps clients informed on what is happening in their cases, and has a down-to-earth personality that makes him approachable and easy to work with.
