Bobby brings a unique and valuable perspective to Rutter & Russin's practice. He formerly worked for the "dark side" representing insurance companies against their insureds. This experience gives him unparalleled insight and perspective that truly sets him apart from the field.
Bobby is passionate about protecting the rights of policyholders. He has experience representing clients in a variety of insurance coverage disputes including claims involving damage to personal and commercial property caused by fire, water, windstorm, hail and other perils; life insurance issues; cyber liability; duty to defend; disaster recovery; Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency coverages; and other insurance coverage issues. He also has experience consulting on risk management for individuals and businesses.
His approach to protecting the client's rights is not "one size fits all," but tailored to meet the client's needs. Sometimes that involves filing a lawsuit, but other times appraisal, arbitration, mediation, or settlement is more appropriate. He prides himself on the ability to identify the critical issues and communicate those issues persuasively to a jury, judge, or legal counsel.
Bobby's colleagues have recognized his achievements. He has been named to the 2019-2023 Ohio Super Lawyers list. Bobby was also named in the 2018 through 2023 Editions of The Best Lawyers in America for Insurance Law, and the 2021-2023 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America for Litigation - Insurance. He is a Trustee of the Ohio Association for Justice and served as the organization's Insurance Committee Chair. Bobby is frequently asked to speak on the topic of insurance law.
